On August 5th, we went from Gondar to Lalibela. A short flight on a small plane. We are greeted there by our driver and guide, who take us up the mountain to the village of Lalibela. There we were taken on tours of the ancient churches, more than ten of them, which were hewn into the rock, over a period of 28 years or so, roughly 900 years ago.

These huts were everywhere.

The guy just looked to cool not to shoot.
Dudes on the road
Thomas outside one of the churches. The structure above the church is designed to protect the ancient buildings from the erosive power of the summer rains.
Here we are at the famous church of St. George.
